At the annual reception for representatives of diplomatic missions in Beijing, organized by the Foreign Office of Beijing Municipality at the National Ice Hall in Beijing and attended by the top officials of Beijing Municipality and other Chinese institutions, Ambassador Maja Stefanovic had brief separate talks with Party chief of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee Mr. Yin Li, Mayor of Beijing Mr. Yin Yong and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal People's Congress Li Xuiling.

During the meeting with member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Party Secretary of CPC Beijing Municipal Committee Mr.Yin Li, mutual willingness to further strengthen comprehensive strategic partnership between Serbia and China and, in particular, readiness to intensify party cooperation between the two countries has been reaffirmed. To this end, Party Secretary Yin, at our invitation, has expressed his willingness to visit Serbia in a mutually agreed term.

In conversation with Mayor of Beijing Mr. Yin Yong, importance of ties between Belgrade and Beijing, has been mutually emphasized. Two cites established cooperation in 1980, thus making Belgrade the third city in the world, after New York and Tokyo, that has established diplomatic relations with Chinese capital. In order to further enhance the cooperation between the two cities, an invitation was extended to Mayor Yin to visit Belgrade in term acceptable to both sides, that has been accepted with pleasure by Chinese side.

With Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal People's Congress Mr. Li Xuiling, Maja Stefanovic exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between the city assemblies of Belgrade and Beijing. In this regard, willingness to realize mutual visits of delegations of assemblies of two cities was mutually expressed.
