Prime Minister Ana Brnabic visited China from 4-7 November this year. During the official visit, the Prime Minister, heading the Delegation of the Republic of Serbia, participated in the 6th CIIE, where Serbia was Guest Country of Honor. At the China International Import Expo, where Serbia was the guest of honor, Prime Minister Brnabic had separate bilateral meetings with the Premier of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang in Shanghai and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.

During her speech at the opening ceremony of the Sixth CIIE in Shanghai, the Prime Minister emphasized the great importance that Serbia attaches to this expo, emphasizing that in the past decade trade between our two countries has grown 186 times thanks to, among other things, the economic policy of openness that China actively advocates and implements.

On 4th November Prime Minister had a bilateral meeting with The Premier of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang in Shanghai. Parties agreed with a high assessment of bilateral relations and expressed their readiness to further deepen comprehensive cooperation. During the meeting, the importance of synergy of the "Serbia 2025" strategy and the Belt and Road Initiative was emphasized, as well as the great potential for cooperation in the field of digital economy, scientific and technological innovation, etc.

During her visit to Beijing, Prime Minister A. Brnabic met with Chinese President Xi Jinping on November 6. During the talks, Xi stressed that Serbia and China are sincere friends, whose friendship has stood the test of time as well as "good partners working for joint development and prosperity." He also pointed out that China is ready to cooperate "side by side" with Serbia to preserve international law and justice, while achieving the joint development of our two countries. Prime Minister Brnabic, during a meeting with President Xi, reiterated the support of the Republic of Serbia to the "one China" principle and stated that our country is ready to further enhance political, economic, but also social, technological, and cultural cooperation with China.


Prime Minister Brnabic's visit to China was closely followed by leading Chinese media, assessing it as very positive, successful and significant, often pointing out that China considers its relationship with Serbia an exemplary model of international relations between China and European countries.
