The Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation Dr. Jelena Begović was one of the guests of the World Economic Forum in Tianjin 27-29 June 2023, greeted by Prime Minister of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang at the opening ceremony.

As a participant of the forum panel "The solution is in biology", she said that the Government of the Republic of Serbia has made a decision to develop the bioeconomy and establish a unique biohub in Europe. She said that Serbia, together with the World Economic Forum, opened the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the third in Europe and the sixteenth in the world. With the help of excellent Serbian scientists, Serbia intends to attract scientists from around the world and become a place for international scientific cooperation and global innovation.

During her stay in Tianjin, Minister Begović also met with Governor of Hebei province, that has a significant role in the development of innovation in today's China. The Minister and the Governor agreed that relations between Serbia and China are at a historic peak. They agreed that business and tourist exchange contributes to the futher improvement of cooperation between the two countries, which will be greatly encouraged by the established direct airtrafic lines.
