Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the People's Republic of China Maja Stefanović presented the letters of credence to the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping on April 24 in Beijing, by which the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, accredits her as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the People's Republic of China.

 

At the ceremony, which was held in the Great Hall of the People, seventy ambassadors to the People's Republic of China presented their credentials. Addressing the ambassadors after the ceremony, President Xi Jinping welcomed them and asked them to convey their warmest greetings and best wishes to their heads of state. He emphasized China's readiness to deepen friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation with all countries in the world on the basis of equality. He underlined that the Government of the People's Republic of China will provide full support to the work of the ambassadors and expressed hope that the ambassadors,with their deepened understanding of China. will act as a bridge of cooperation.

 

President Xi Jinping also referred to the period of the Covid-19 pandemic, emphasizing that many countries provided assistance to China and that China has taken decisive steps in the fight against the pandemic at the global level as well. President Xi Jinping conveyed his willingness to work together with the international community in order to promote the implementation of the Initiative for Global Development, the Initiative for Global Security and the Initiative for Global Civilization, with the aim of joint progress towards building a society with a shared future for mankind.
