Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade Mr. Tomislav Momirović paid an official visit to the People's Republic of China from April 9-12, during which he met with the Minister of Trade of China Mr. Wang Wentao, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Mr. Deng Li, the Mayor of Ningbo Mr. Tang Feifan and representatives of Chinese companies.
After the meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Mr. Deng Li in Beijing on April 10, Minister Momirović pointed out that Serbia is committed to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership with China and further improving economic and trade relations, while reiterating Serbia's commitment to cooperation within the the Belt and Road Initiative as well as the Mechanism of cooperation between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
After meeting the mayor of Ningbo Mr. Tang Feifan on April 11 in Ningbo, Minister Momirović emphasized that exports from Serbia to China are increasing year by year, reaching a record 1.2 billion dollars in 2022. He also underlined that through intensive trade cooperation with China and Chinese companies, the export of goods from Serbia will be further increased in the coming period.
After signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Minister of Trade of the People's Republic of China Mr. Wang Wentao on April 12, which formally begins negotiations on free trade between Serbia and the People's Republic of China , Minister Momirović pointed out that the economic relations between Serbia and China are at highest level in history of our cooperation, as well as that Serbia is an important strategic partner of China in the Western Balkans.
Upon signing the Memorandum of Understanding, which formally begins negotiations on free trade between the Republic of Serbia and the People's Republic of China, Minister Momirović ended his three-day visit to China.
