(Beijing, 7 November 2013) Serbian minister of Natural Resources, Mining and Spatial Planning prof. dr Milan Bačević was in an official visit to the People's Republic of China from 1 to 6 November 2013. From 3 to 5 November, M. Bačević participated in the International congress on mining "China Mining 2013" in Tianjin, which was attended by ministers of ten countries, Chinese officials and experts. At a special ministerial forum, minister Bačević presented a guide for investing in the mining industry in Serbia and invited Chinese investors to invest in Serbia.

Minister Bačević met with Minister of Land and Resources of China Jiang Daming, with whom he discussed the promotion of cooperation between the two countries. On this occasion, the two ministers signed a Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of geology and mining.

M. Bačević also met with representatives of a number of Chinese corporations, interested in investment in Serbia in the field of natural resources, infrastructure, geology and mining.

Together with the Minister Bačević, director of the Geological Institute of Serbia, prof. dr Dragoman Rabrenović also visited China, and signed with the director of the Geological Institute of China a Memorandum of understanding and cooperation between the two institutes in the field of geology and mining.
