(Beijing, 21 April 2013) In the Embassy of Serbia in Beijing on the 18 April 2013 the ceremony of awarding the medals to former ambassadors of China to Serbia H.E. Mr. Li Guobang and H.E. Mr. Wei Jinghua was held. The two Ambassadors during their careers spent several mandates in Serbia and contributed to the development of friendly relations between the Republic of Serbia and the People’s Republic of China.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia H.E. Mrs. Vera Mavrić, who was in an official visit to P.R. of China, in the presence of about 80 guests (representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, CCP, university professors, business representatives of Serbia) and the media (Chinese Radio International, Guangming Daily, Global Times, Chinaworld, Home and Abroad New Press), decorated ambassadors with the Order of the Serbian Flag, Second Class. The Decree on their decorations was signed by the President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolić, for their contribution in developing and consolidating cooperation and friendly relations between Serbia and China.

The ceremony was opened by Tatjana Panajotović Cvetković, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Serbian Embassy in Beijing. State Secretary Vera Mavrić held a speech in which she emphasized the important contribution of ambassadors Li and Wei in the development of friendly relations between Serbia and China.

Аfter reading the Decree of the President of the Republic of Serbia and the delivery of Medals, honored ambassadors gave speeches, expressing their gratitude and emphasizing teamwork and excellent cooperation they have enjoyed during their terms in the Republic of Serbia.
